Handling Being Left Out of a Group Conversation: Building Social Inclusion Resilience in Children
Last Saturday at the playground, my 8-year-old approached a group of children who were already engaged in conversation. They didn’t notice her and continued talking among themselves. She walked back to me with a hurt expression. Instead of immediately intervening, I remembered our family’s commitment to the Life-Ready approach. I said, “Sometimes people don’t notice us when they’re talking.
